Ancient Sea White Oval by Consuelo Becerra

In Ancient Sea White Oval, Consuelo Becerra approaches the vessel as an artifact shaped by imagined histories. Its low, elliptical form is bordered by an intricately textured exterior, where accumulated marks and irregular formations evoke mineral deposits, marine erosion, and fragments recovered from an archaeological landscape.

The restrained white surface draws attention to the contrast between the quiet interior and the densely worked perimeter. Created for the Eden Kampong Exhibition, the piece explores ideas of geological memory and the passage of time, existing somewhere between functional vessel, sculptural object, and unearthed relic.
