Ancient Sea White Vase 1 by Consuelo Becerra

In Ancient Sea White Vase 1, Consuelo Becerra transforms the vessel into an object that appears shaped by time, erosion, and organic accumulation. Its rounded silhouette is enveloped by an irregular, highly textured surface, recalling marine encrustations, mineral deposits, and fragments of an artifact recovered from an imagined seabed.

The pale monochromatic finish heightens the relationship between surface and shadow, revealing layers of texture that seem to have formed gradually over time. Created for the Eden Kampong Exhibition, Ancient Sea White Vase 1 exists between vessel, geological specimen, and archaeological relic—a meditation on material transformation and the traces left by nature.
