Description
In Tequesta Ground Black Vase Medium, Paloma Teppa transforms the vessel into a dense sculptural terrain. Its irregular form is enveloped by layered, organic reliefs that appear to fold, gather, and emerge from one another, recalling weathered stone, marine formations, and fragments of an imagined natural landscape.
The deep black surface gives the work a striking monolithic quality, while light reveals the intricate cavities, projections, and shadows embedded throughout its form. Created for the Eden Kampong Exhibition, Tequesta Ground Black Vase Medium explores the vessel as landscape—an object shaped by accumulation, material transformation, and the unpredictable structures of the natural world.
