Description
In Tequesta Owl Light, Paloma Teppa transforms illumination into an encounter between sculpture and the natural world. An abstracted owl-like figure rises from an expansive, highly textured base, where layered forms suggest coral, stone, and organic matter gathered through processes of growth and accumulation.
The work’s pale, monochromatic surface allows its complex relief and irregular silhouette to emerge through shifting light and shadow. Created for the Eden Kampong Exhibition, Tequesta Owl Light occupies the space between functional lighting and sculptural object, evoking a mysterious presence shaped by both terrestrial and marine references.
